Dear Dancham members,
We are extending the invitation from ARISE+ Indonesia in partnership with the Ministry of Investment/BKPM for European private sector consultations – Ministry of Investment’s new EU-Focused Investment Attraction Plan below:
The EU-funded ARISE+ Indonesia Trade Support Facility is partnering with the Ministry of Investment/BKPM to develop an EU-Focused Investment Attraction Plan for Future-Oriented Projects. This initiative has been designed to take the Indonesia-Europe investment partnership to a new and more ambitious level, by developing a strategic, implementable plan for the Ministry to attract a new wave of European FDI into Indonesia.
At this early stage, the initiative is primarily looking to consult with Indonesia-based European businesses and sector specialists in the industries listed below:
- Renewable Energy
- Automotive
- Agribusiness
- Transport & Logistics
- Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals
- Electronics & ICT
Through the consultations, they are seeking to understand:
- Investors’ and specialists’ views on key viable and attractive investment opportunities in Indonesia, including key subsectors plus value chain segments and activities – both in the short-term and longer-term. Where relevant, it will also be interesting to hear corporate views on some of the recently-launched investment project opportunities being promoted by the Government– particularly those relevant to our focus sectors.
- Views on Inonesia’s existing business enabling environment for each sector, and enhancements needed to ‘unlock’ and capture new investment opportunities. Regulatory considerations are already well documented, but it will also be interesting to hear views on other key aspects, including: labour & skills, sites & infrastructure, supply chains, market conditions, plus other relevant day-to-day operational realities.
Initially, the initiative is planning to hold a series of 1-on-1 consultations with individual European companies in the above sectors.
They are also planning a series of sector multi-stakeholder consultations in Jakarta on the dates below, the idea being that some companies and sector specialists may prefer to meet in a multi-stakeholder setting involving BKPM, to hear updates from their side and to put questions to them. Some companies may even wish to take part in both types of consultations and they are welcome to do so.
