On August 12, 2019 Royal Danish Embassy in Jakarta in collaboration with DanCham presented the second edition of Indonesia-Denmark Alumni Network (IDAN) Summer Gathering at the Danish Residence. The Gathering was opened by the Danish Ambassador to Indonesia, H.E. Rasmus Abilgaard Kristensen.
IDAN, launched in 2018, is an interdisciplinary network of young professionals and students who share common interest in Denmark, and understand that durable networks are key to personal and global success. Now the network has approximately 75 members who are currently residing in Indonesia, Denmark, and other European countries, with the range of age group 20-40 years old.
The aim of IDAN is to create a forum for social as well as professional interaction. In the gathering, DanCham corporate members opened a booth for their vocational programs and job openings with flyers and banners, as well as got to know closer with Indonesian Denmark Alumni. More than 45 alumni and 5 corporate members: Grundfos, Jebsen&Jessen, Maersk, Novo Nordisk, and AVK attended the gathering.
The guests had a pleasure to welcome an exciting guest speaker, Thor F. Jensen, who is known for the first ever circumnavigation of the Island of New Guinea on a wooden traditional canoe. His candid presentation of how he managed to circumnavigate the whole island with only three crews on a wooden canoe entertained the audience.
