The EU-ASEAN Business Council in cooperation with European Business Chambers of Commerce in ASEAN member states currently issues the publication on 2018 EU-ASEAN Business Sentiment. The publication shows result of survey regarding European business sentiment and outlook in Southeast Asia through key issues such as macro-economy, policy and regulatory environment, and bilateral/multilateral foreign trade agreement development.
The surveys display some interesting key findings in 2018. On the business environment and outlook, 99 percent of the respondents expect to expand or maintain the current level of trade and investment in five years. Expectation from European business to increase in ASEAN profits in 2018 is still high with 72 percent of total respondents. Specifically for business in Indonesia, the expectation is lowest than the other ASEAN member countries but still in a good number with 65 percent.
